The musicians of the Artista Trio desire not only to entertain but to create music through artistic expression that enriches the soul. The Chicago based harp, flute, and cello trio skillfully creates an elegant ambiance distinguishing any special event as unique and memorable.

When performing as an ensemble or providing solo music, the members of the Artista Trio integrate fine musicianship with artistic creativity to deliver exceptional performances. Each artist has over fifteen years of solo and ensemble experience and is dedicated to providing quality, professional musical services.

Dawn Bishop began playing the harp as a young child under the instruction of her mother, harpist Jan Bishop. While earning a B.A. in Psychology at Wheaton College, Dawn performed as principle harpist of the Wheaton College Symphony Orchestra. Dawn currently maintains a full-time teaching and freelance career in the Chicagoland area. Formerly a harp instructor at Sherwood Conservatory, she continues to teach the Suzuki method at her private studio in Wheaton, IL. Since 1998, Dawn has been featured as a harpist for afternoon tea at Chicago’s prestigious Drake Hotel, where she can be seen performing throughout the week.

An active freelancer and recitalist in the Chicago area, Marie Bennett holds a Bachelor of Music from Northwestern University and a Master of Music from DePaul University. She has performed with many regional and international orchestras including the Orquesta Sinfonica in Monterrey, Mexico, the Illinois Symphony, and Concertante di Chicago. Marie can also be heard on recordings from GIA and OCP music publishers, has made several appearances on live radio, and regularly presents recitals throughout the Chicago area. Marie teaches at North Central College in Naperville, IL and maintains a private teaching studio in her home.

A native of France, Martine Benmann arrived in Chicago in 1988 and has since been active in the field as a teacher, an orchestral musician, and chamber music and solo performer. Her primary interest is chamber music, and she has toured with duos and trios in Europe, Russia and the United States. Martine received her musical education in France, Germany, and Russia (Moscow) and in the U.S. She is an Artist Diploma graduate from Roosevelt University, and has participated in many summer courses and festivals in Europe and the United States.

The Artista Trio performs a wide range of musical styles including but not limited to Classical, Standards, Show Tunes, Popular, and Celtic music. Whether performing for a romantic dinner for two or a large scale corporate function, the Artista Trio can recommend appropriate music based on their musical expertise and client expectations. The musicians are available to perform in private homes, restaurants, hotels, business settings, outdoor events, or the venue of your choice.
